In addition to his television work in the UK, Pasqualino has also appeared in SyFy Channel’s prequel Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chome and most recently in Bong Joon-ho’s international thriller Snowpiercer. He’s repped by Innovative Artists and Schachter/Brown Management in Los Angeles and The BWH Agency in London.
Retake will also feature Derek Phillips who rose to fame on NBC’s Friday Night Lights and recently appeared in the Jackie Robinson bio-pic, 42. Rounding out the cast is Kit Williamson, known for his work on Mad Men and as the creator and star of the award- winning web-series, Eastsiders, as a hustler working alongside Brandon on the streets of San Francisco. Phillips is repped by Talent Works; Williamson by Rectangle Entertainment.
Corporon directs from a screenplay he wrote, from a story by Justin Bailey, Nick Corporon, Collin Brazie, and Gareth Dutton. Sean Mandell is producing the film with Corporon and Brazie.
The filmmakers have had a strong group of independent backers come forward to help fund the film. They’ve had great success but are now taking their campaign to Kickstarter to reach their final funding goal.
Producer Sean Mandell said of the project, “It’s still a challenge for LGBT projects to get made. However, thanks to crowdfunding, viewers today have a tremendous ability to influence what content gets made. We hope that when viewers see what we’re creating, they’ll be as excited as we are and want to help bring Retake to life.”
Director Corporon is an award-winning short filmmaker, whose last short film, Barbie Boy, played at over 40 film festivals worldwide and won multiple audience awards. His other films, all LGBT-themed, played at over 60 film festivals worldwide. Retake is his first feature film.
