Lupe Valdez made national headlines in 2004 when she became the first female, Latina, and lesbian sheriff of Dallas County. Thursday night, HBO subscribers will get to learn even more about her in the documentary “The Out List.” Her story is featured alongside a long list of out-and-proud LGBT professionals.
HBO synopsis:
Others featured: Ellen DeGeneres, Dustin Lance Black, Wanda Sykes, Lady Bunny, and Neil Patrick Harris. (Just to name a few.)
Thursday June 12, a select few Dallasites had the chance to get a sneak peek at the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station. Valdez and the film’s producers all showed up to answer questions on the documentary.
Don’t worry, everyone else, you can see it tonight on HBO, or whenever you want on HBOGO.
