I love recipes, I love reading cookery books, I even, on occasion, make things form these books too. And sometimes its even edible.

So, when asked to try out a new app for iPad, I couldn’t wait. However, this isn’t your usual “free” app that gives you 5 recipes and then wants to you cough up for any more….or the type that gives you a load free and then never updates.
This app seems to be in it for the long haul, having researched its market and built in the possibility of a longer lasting app – something you would go back to time and time again.
The reason for this? It’s simple – you do the work, you choose what recipes you collect, what recipes you file, and can file in a multitude of ways.
There are simple icons on screen, that let you go direct to the web, opening on a google search for recipes, that lets you choose the sites you visit such as the BBC, Jamie Oliver, Delia, C4, you name it, if it mentions recipes, it’s in this search – and so it should, it’s no different to opening Google and searching yourself.
The difference is that this app then lets you save the recipes, save a shopping list, order your recipes by cuisine, meal types and a whole lot more.
This may sound like a lot of work for you, the user, but, putting it in a practical scenario, I do love cooking but don’t always have the list of ingredients with me when I go shopping and fancy making a mushroom and mozzarella pizza from scratch – the dough isn’t rocket science but I sully forget something unless I make a list before going shopping.
The app allows you to make that list and keep it – using it whenever you’re out and about. It also allows you to edit the recipes, so if you find a shortcut or want to adapt something to personalise it, you can.
Its kind of like having your own ever changing library in your iPad, allows you to edit, adapt, collect and enjoy your food!
Do yourself a favour and download today.
