The anti-gay protest group, StraightPrideUK have announced plans to attend gay pride in London this weekend to ‘combat the pride of sodomy’.

Plans have been outlined by anti-gay group StraightPrideUK to attend the UK’s biggest gay pride event, Pride In London to ‘combat’ gay pride in the UK.

The group which aims to campaign for “straight pride” and heterosexual rights in the UK said in a tweet this morning:

“Good morning we shall be in #London this weekend to combat the pride of sodomy. With the PRIDE that some people are naturally heterosexual.”

Although there’s no way to confirm that StraightPrideUK, which has just 626 followers, is a real or parody account or is in fact verified.

Jake Hook, TheGayUK’s co-founder said:

“TheGayUK was blocked from contacting StraightPrideUK as soon as we discovered the account so we are unable to establish whether the group is for real.”

Previously GayStarNews had reported that tweets by SraightPrideUK, which have now been deleted, were homophobic and that they wanted to ‘crush the gay agenda’

‘We need Straight Pride to demonstrate that being heterosexual is nature’s way. We need to crush the gay agenda’ read one such tweet.

The account’s Twitter description reads:

“A national campaign for those practising traditional lifestyles & relationships. Those who want to celebrate being of natural orientation”

They have claimed to attend other gay prides around the country, but no press reports have been made sighting them.
