Anna Gutmanis, a Canadian songwriter, singer and keyboardist, entwines her brave, edgy lyrics with deep, blues-style vocals. In November 2013, Anna and CMA Producer of the Year Karen Kane recorded 2 new original songs – “Lately It’s Cold”, and “Diamonds and Stiletto Shoes”, the latter with lyrics co-written by Georgia Wilder. Anna’s critically-acclaimed album “Glimmer In The Dark” (2012) has been named the Number One album of 2013 on the international OutVoice Top Twenty Album Chart, and her award-winning single “I Am Who I Am” (2008) remains an anthem to the LGBTQ rights movement. Other recordings include her eponymous debut album, which still receives airplay on commercial radio. Anna has released 2 music videos, “I Am Who I Am”, which played at film festivals around the world, and the brand-new “Another Way Out”, directed by the Toronto International Film Festival-nominated Simone Stock. Anna often performs live in and around Toronto, and has also played shows at Pridefest Milwaukee, Chicago’s Homolatte and Indiegrrl Festivals in Tennessee and Massachusetts. In February 2014, Anna released “Lately It’s Cold” and “Diamonds and Stiletto Shoes” by appearing at Toronto’s Hugh’s Room for Jane Harbury’s prestigious “Discoveries” series. The new songs are already getting strong reviews and hitting the iTunes Canada Blues Music Chart, while “Lately It’s Cold” is also on the iTunes Ireland Blues Music Chart.
