Birmingham Pride is a weekend long LGBT festival held annually in the Gay Village on Hurst Street, Birmingham, England: this year is held over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend – Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May 2015.

Following the success of Birmingham Pride raising £75,136 last year, a Pride Trust has been independently formed to award a number of grants to LGBT community groups in the coming months and years.
Birmingham Pride Festival Director, Lawrence Barton commented: “We were staggered at just how much money Birmingham Pride managed to raise in 2013. With over £75,000 to account for, we wanted to take our time in developing an appropriate method to distribute the money fairly to those groups in the LGBT community. We feel we’ve hit the nail on the head with the new Birmingham Pride Trust and I’m looking forward to Pride helping the community in need.”
Who decides on where the money goes?
A small group of LGBT representatives have been brought together to come up with a process for allocating the funds to the LGBT community to support small groups and voluntary organisations to deliver key services.
