Denver PrideFest 2014
Denver PrideFest takes place in downtown Civic Center Park, featuring the CoorsLight PrideFest Parade, the Smirnoff DanceWorld, the Peligroso Latin Stage with cultural programming, and the Center Stage with live entertainment. The festival hosts 325,000 guests annually and also features more than 250 vendor booths with arts, crafts, food and more. We provide a VIP area with food and drinks for sponsors and contributors to enjoy. There’s also a family area, youth alley, and a transgender resource area.
The mission of Denver PrideFest is to create a fun, safe and empowering space to celebrate and promote the heritage and culture of the LGBT and allied community in Colorado.
Celebrating our 39th anniversary in 2014, Denver PrideFest is produced by the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Colorado (The Center). Each year, the event attracts over 325,000 visitors to Civic Center Park.
Center CEO Debra Pollock announced that the theme for this year’s celebration is “Same World Same Love.” Noting the recent drive to overturn Colorado’s constitutional ban on same – sex marriages, Pollock noted that this year’s theme celebrates the growing momentum and recent victories in Colorado and across the country for equality in relationship recognition.
“We also chose this theme to acknowledge that for all the advances in the U.S., our brothers and sisters in other countries, especially Russia and Uganda and other African countries, are still struggling against severe oppression in their fight for civil equality. We are celebrating progress and looking forward to a world in which all people are recognized, respected, protected, and celebrated.”
