Director Lambda LGBT Alumni Association
USC’s University Advancement – Alumni Association supports the overall advancement of USC by engaging all alumni for life, building a culture of philanthropy among the Trojan Family, and being the representative voice for all USC alumni. With more than 350,000 members worldwide, the Alumni Association supports more than 100 affiliate alumni clubs, alumnae support groups, and multicultural alumni organizations, and distributes more than $4 million each year in scholarships for USC students. In addition, the Alumni Association hosts more than 250 events and programs around the world, and provides benefits and services to all alumni.
The Alumni Association is seeking a Director, Lambda LGBT Alumni Association to join its team. The Director is responsible for the day to day management and strategic direction and development of USC’s Lambda LGBT Alumni Association. Founded in 1992, USC Lambda connects lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied Trojan alumni to each other and to the university and raises support for scholarships and other University initiatives. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in board management, fundraising, program development, event coordination and scholarship administration.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Plans, organizes, and conducts specific fundraising programs, major events, or specialized development projects.
2. Plans, forms, and gives direction to support and volunteer groups.
3. Cultivates and maintains relationships with donors and volunteers.
4. Identifies strategies for cultivation of donor prospects. Conducts research to update and expand donor base.
5. Drafts gift or grant proposals for review or provides assistance to proposal writers.
6. Provides input for the development of a school or departmental fiscal year operating budget. Manages program or event budgets.
7. Writes, edits, and produces fundraising and/or marketing materials. Develops support materials for specific fundraising activities.
8. Represents department or school at professional meetings and seminars for professional development.
9. Supervises assigned staff. Interviews, hires and trains research staff. Schedules and delegates workload. Evaluates performance and provides guidance and feedback.
10. Develops and implements security related procedures such as office opening and closing routines, recognition of duress signals and key controls. Coordinates security activities with University Public Safety Department. Promotes and maintains standards for security conscious awareness and behavior. Maintains knowledge of University’s crime prevention and suppression programs and services. Ensures dissemination of security related information to staff.
11. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
