Following their 2012 Edinburgh Triumph, Dracula: Sex, Sucking and Stardom, Last Chance Saloon are back with another fresh take on a classic story. Peppered with the Saloon boys’ trademark wit, Frankenstein: UnBolted is clever, inventive and very, very silly.

Sam Dunham, Jack Faires and Saloon-newcomer Jack Gogarty are a treat to watch as they clown around, often jumping between one character and the next as the tale unfolds. There are moments of genuine hilarity from the dynamic trio, and their enthusiasm is infectious.

Cheesy gags, clever song parodies and a suitable amount of audience participation all add to the almost panto-like atmosphere that we have come to expect from these guys, and Frankenstein: UnBolted certainly delivers in plentiful quantity.

A personal highlight, for me, is the “I’m Frankie…” song. The whole show is massively fun, but this song is worth the trip to Edinburgh on its own!

Frankenstein: UnBolted plays at Just The Tonic at The Caves daily at 19:25 until 24 August.
