TheGayUK attended the launch of the Canary Wharf Ice Rink last night in the centre of Canada Square Park settled between the towering skyscrapers and illuminated tree lined streets.

The magical location features one of the biggest outdoor ice rinks in the UK, an on-site Jukebox bar by Boisdale with a retro-themed menu, an outdoor viewing terrace and VIP Heineken bar should you be looking to book your own private party space.

Tresor Paris, the main sponsors of this years ice rink, have a pop up shop, allowing visitors a chance to leave dripping in crystals after a whizz round the ice! On display are a pair of custom made crystallised skates. As the only pair in the world and worth £4,995, they are truly something special. One lucky person will be able to call them their own, as the stunning boots are going to be auctioned off in aid of BBC Children in Need and are expected to raise a handsome sum.
