Former “Kyle XY” came out of the closet to his fans in the beginning of 2013, via Twitter – when he tweeted about his engagement to his partner, Blue Hamilton.
Jodie Foster
January 2013
Hollywood royalty, Jodie Foster finally ended years of press speculation when she came out during her acceptance speech at the 70th Colden Globe Awards. In the speech Foster said: ‘I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago, back in the Stone Age. In those very quaint days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends, and family, co-workers and then gradually, proudly, to everyone who knew her.’

In February Footballer Robbie Rogers came out after posting a blog entry on his website saying, ‘Secrets can cause so much internal damage. People love to preach about honesty, how honesty is so plain and simple. Try explaining to your loved ones after 25 years you are gay. I always thought I could hide this secret. Football was my escape, my purpose, my identity. Football hid my secret, gave me more joy than I could have ever imagined’

Music mogul and discoverer of Whitney Houston came out as bisexual also in February this year in his memoir named Sound Track Of My Life.

One of the world’s most famous Basketball players came out as gay in May 2013. He said that he chose to wear the jersey number 98 in tribute to Matthew Shephard who was a victim of hate crime in 1998. Collins called the number: “a statement to myself, my family and my friends.”
Raven-Symoné

Raven-Symoné came out via a Tweet, after the US government struck down the parts of DOMA that stopped same-sex couples from getting married. She tweeted: ‘I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you’
Later confirming suspicions that she was gay the actress said to E! News: “I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to.”
Lucas Cruikshank

YouTube sensation and Nickelodeon star Lucas came out aged 19 in a statement made on the Internet, in a Q&A session. He said:
“My family and friends have known for like three years, I just haven’t felt the need to announce it on the Internet,” he explained. At one point during the video he turned and asked Veal: “How come you didn’t have to make a video saying you’re straight?”
Ben Whishaw

In August English actor Ben Whishaw had a representative confirm that he had entered into a civil partnership with his Australian composer partner Mark Bradshaw. They had their ceremony in 2012. In 2011, the Skyfall actor said in an interview with Out Magazine: “As an actor you have total rights to privacy and mystery, whatever your sexuality, whatever you do. I don’t see why that has to be something you discuss openly because you do something in the public eye. I have no understanding of why we turn actors into celebrities.”

In August X Men actor Troye Sivan came out publicly on YouTube. The video entitled ‘Coming Out’ has had over 1.6 million views. The video received 205,000 thumbs up.
Wentworth Miller
August 2013
Wentworth sent millions of heart a flutter earlier this year when he came out after an invite to attend a film festival in St. Petersburg in Russia. The Prison Break star wrote a statement that declined the invitation saying:
“Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes,” the 41-year-old wrote in a letter to the festival’s director, which was posted on GLAAD’s website. “However, as a gay man, I must decline.”
