The first gay pride celebration I went to was more than a decade ago. It was St. Louis Gay Pride, and I had a really good time. I’m pretty sure the reason I enjoyed myself so much was that it was my first. I saw so much freedom and acceptance.
Over the years I’ve become less active in the gay community. However, that’s changed this year. I am—no kidding—going to attend my first Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. I’m pretty excited about it.
So… rather than pretending I know what to expect, I decided to ask some of my Facebook friends for advice. Following is what they had to offer.
