It’s campy. It’s neon pink. It’s all on roller-skates. What’s not to love?
“Xanadu” opens Thursday, June 26, at Addison’s WaterTower Theatre and runs through August 18.
“Xanadu” follows the journey of a Kira, a Greek muse who descends from Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980. She takes it upon herself to inspire struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first roller disco. It’s a musical-spoof of the 80′s classic by the same name, starring Olivia Newton-John.
It’s local iteration is directed by Robert Bartley, starring Brittany Danielle, Sean McGee, Bradley Campbell, Liz Mikel, and Stacia Goad-Malone.
