The Associate Vice President for Programs will lead all community program and patient engagement efforts for Fenway Health and its affiliates.​ The Associate Vice President for Programs will particularly focus on government funded non-research contracts, and expansion of programs that contribute to Fenway Health’s strategic plan.​

Primary responsibilities: assessing and regularly evaluating program efficiency and capacity; recommending and implementing changes to ensure programs are best meeting the needs of a wide variety of target groups; increasing the integration of program direction and activities with clinical and other services; leading the development and maintenance of a wide-range of resources and health services for priority populations; ensuring staff provides high quality services to help improve clients’ health and self-sufficiency outcomes; leading grant writing, budget oversight and other funder requirements for all programs; and working closely with directly reporting program managers and directors across sites to ensure the integration, coordination and consistency of services across the organization.​

Additional responsibilities include: staying abreast with current health-related news and research with special attention on HIV, STI, sexual health, Hepatitis and LGBT-health related issues; ensuring proper documentation procedures are maintained to track and monitor services and programmatic outcomes;; seeking data to support direction and decision making in all aspects of program implementation and development; and participating in the annual budget process.​

Requirements:

  • Graduate level degree in social work, public health, public policy or public administration preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years programmatic management experience
  • Strong knowledge of health care systems, organizational behavior and development, and management
  • Experience working with issues related to social and economic inequalities, including issues related to HIV/​AIDS, substance use, commercial sex work, homelessness, mental health, and bilingual, multicultural & GLBT communities
  • Working knowledge of HIV/​AIDS community trends, harm reduction, and at-risk populations and commitment and experience to delivering low-threshold, easily accessible service
  • Strong administrative, budget management, report writing and technology skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed, motivated and flexible with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse work staff preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required.
