The Mosaic LGBT Youth Centre join Pride Community Parade
The 2015 Pride Community Parade Carnival of Diversity will celebrate every aspect of our bright and bold LGBT+ community. Parading through the city of Brighton and Hove with over 160,000 participants and spectators, it will be a truly magical event bringing sunshine and happiness to our proudest of weekends.
LGBT+ youth are an important part of our community and will play a vital role in the Pride Community Parade. Often faced with issues relating to bullying, housing, education and health, it is imperative that Pride support and highlight those organisations and charities providing much-needed support for the LGBT+ youth in our communities.
Based in Kilburn, the youth-led The Mosaic LGBT Youth Centre will be joining the 2015 Pride Community Parade, highlighting their amazing work within the LGBT+ youth community. From their youth club to training, health and anti-bullying support and Summer Camp, the Mosaic LGBT Youth Centre provide much-needed services for London’s diverse LGBT youth community in Uxbridge, Camden and Ealing.
Lukasz Konieczka, Mosaic LGBT Youth Centre’s Manager said:Being part of Pride is important as it connects LGBT+ young persons with the wider LGBT+ community and helps them to reclaim public spaces that still to often are associated with intimidation and bullying. We also hope that we can spread the word about the Summer Camp where we create safe, supportive and enriching space for future LGBT+ community generations to develop”.
