LGBT Rainbow Mishpacha Family Weekend – The LGBT Network and The Samuel Field Y are excited to announce a historic partnership resulting in the debut of Rainbow Mishpacha (LGBT Families). In what will become an annual event,Rainbow Mishpacha is an exceptional opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) parents raising children to enjoy a long weekend family camp filled with fun, adventure, friendship and the rich tradition of Jewish summer camping. Queens, NY.
Camp for Long Island and New York City LGBT Families
In Hebrew Mishpacha means family and our family camp weekend will create exciting family experiences that will last a lifetime by spending a gorgeous 4 days in the Pocono Mountains.
Family camp weekend is open to LGBT-headed households (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) and their families. Come experience the warmth and spirit that has made Samuel Field Y’s Premiere Residential Camp, Camp Poyntelle Lewis Village*, a special place for nearly 70 years!
During the action packed weekend, LGBT Rainbow Mishpacha campers will take part in every activity Poyntelle has to offer. Events will include: boating and swimming on the 70 acre exclusive lake, playing sports, outdoor adventure, a campfire, traditional Friday Night Shabbat Service, our famous BBQ, and what camp experience would not be complete without….s’mores!
Space is limited – Registration required by July 27th, 2015!
Registration costs $150/Adult and $125/Children – Payment is required at the time of registration. Once you are fully registered, you will receive a welcome packet via e-mail.

About The Network: The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Network (LGBT Network) is an association of non-profit organizations that serve Long Island and Queens’ LGBT community throughout the lifespan – Q Center: Queens LGBT Community Center, Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY), The Long Island LGBT Community Center (The Center), and Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders – Long Island (SAGE-LI)).
