Channel 5 Could Face Investigation Over Holyfield’s Anti-Gay Rant

<p>Viewers of last night's Celebrity Big Brother have made complaints to Ofcom, after Evander Holyfield suggested that homosexuality could be fixed.</p> <p>by Newsdesk | 6th January 2014</p><p></p><p> </p><p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4603928906.jpg" width="460" height="260" alt="(c) Channel 5" title="(c) Channel 5"/></p> <p></p><p>Channel 5, the broacaster of Celebrity Big Brother could face investigation from Ofcom, after the regulator confirmed that they had received a number of complaints about the <a href="http://www.thegayuk.com/magazine/4574334751/Big-Brother-House-Rocked-By-Evander-Holyfield%E2%80%99s-Homophobia/7251089">boxer's anti-gay remarks</a>.</p><p></p><p>In an email to TheGayUK the broadcast regulator said that a number of people had complained, but No decision to formally investigate has yet been made at this stage," </p><p></p><p>Brother Big Producers quickly released this statement:</p><p></p><p>'Following Evander Holyfield’s comments about his personal views of homosexuality last night, Big Brother spoke to him in the diary room. Evander was told that his views weren’t shared by a large section of society and that expressing those views and the language he used could be seen as extremely offensive to many people. He was warned to think carefully about repeating them.
