Specialised LGBT Packages that offer 5 days/4 Nights with 2 rounds of Golf. Here is a little sampling of what you can expect at Chardon Luxury Golf Breaks:
We Pride ourselves in sourcing and providing access to everything you may need in the sunny South of France. From welcoming accommodations, to stunning scenery and friendly venues. Ground transportation requirements included and provided by your personal concierge/driver. your stay in historic and vibrant Montpellier, the unofficial French capital of gay culture, means that you are truly spoiled by choices. To allow us to present a meaningful experience for you, we have created this sample itinerary and have chosen a particular accommodation. Reflecting the region’s warmth and genuine acceptance of the LGBT community, there is an extensive list of alternative accommodations that we would be only too happy to discuss. We have left your evenings free and will happily provide advice on local nightlife and provide additional transport if required.
The geographical location of Montpellier is nestled between the Mediterranean, mountains, and surrounded by fantastic vineyards. The area really does provide you with an abundance of choices. This youthful city, where the pedestrian is king, is kissed by sunshine for most of the year and with great museums and historical sites, the choices just go on and on, like the warm summer evenings.
Day 1: Arrival at Montpellier Airport
Meet your personal concierge/driver and private transfer to your accommodations. Check into the grand Hotel Du Midi where you will be warmly greeted by the friendly staff. The region, once under the rule of the King of Aragon, has a heavy Spanish influence with many colourful festivals (ferias) taking place throughout the year. Montpellier is often referred to as “Little San Francisco” and has many friendly LGBT activities and venues.
Day 2: Buffet Breakfast, 18 holes of golf at La Grande Motte Golf Club
You will be delighted to discover that one of the courses is called Les Flamants Roses (The PPink Flamingos), and hopefully you will see these colourful birds wading nearby, not to mention the wild white horses or imposing black bulls. Lunch at the golf club. After lunch, you’re off on a guided tour of the medieval town of Aigues Mortes. Lovingly maintained and the historical departing point for the crusades in the Middle Ages. The town is renowned for its provision for the LGBT community. Its cobbled streets will transport you back in time. Founded by the Roman Gaius Marius around 102 BC, it is really the brainchild of the French crusader King Louis IX, the revered warrior king known as Saint Louis. It was from here in 1248 that King Louis embarked on the 7th crusade with 15,000 men. Nearby is one of the most famous and welcoming LGBT beaches in France, Plage de l’Espiguette.
In stark contrast to the fashionable and manicured beaches of Cannes, Nice, and Saint-Tropez, are the wild and windswept beaches of Languedoc-Roussillon. Here you’ll find natural beauty on what’s considered to be one of France’s best gay beaches. The Plage de l’Espiguette extends for over six miles so you’re guaranteed to find a quiet spot. Remote and unpretentious, l’Espiguette has few amenities besides the occasional drinks seller and you get a genuine sense of having escaped the world. Beyond the beach are miles of sand dunes, salt flats, and a nature reserve where you might spy flamingos or wild Camargue horses. Popular with a predominantly French crowd, from young to the more mature, l’Espiguette is mixed, but the farther you walk from the park the more nude and more gay it becomes.
Day 3: Buffet Breakfast and Guided Tour
Vibrant Montpellier, where even the trams were designed by Christian Lacroix. Included is a visit to the colourful local French market. Montpellier is steeped in history and its historical past dovetails effortlessly with its youthful and dynamic feeling of the present. In the afternoon, visit a wine estate and sample some of the finest wine in the South of France. This is followed by a visit to a stunning 18th Century Chateau and its glorious gardens.
Day 4: Buffet Breakfast 18 holes of golf at Nimes Campagne Golf Club
Lunch at Golf Clubhouse (Maison Blanche) which was built more than 100 years ago by an American loving Frenchman, as a smaller version of, and his homage to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
The golf club itself, set within a wooded estate, has hosted several major events.
In the afternoon travel to the ancient Roman town of Nimes, where the arena and other roman buildings rival those in Rome itself. Indulge your fantasies at the Gladiator museum. Enjoy a drink sitting in the rooftop bar of Carré D’Art museum designed by Sir Norman Foster and compare it to the 2000-year-old stunning Maison Carré opposite. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the many narrow charming streets and squares filled with cafes and shops.
Day 5: Buffet Breakfast, Hotel Check-Out, and Explore a Fishing Village
After buffet breakfast, check out of your accommodation and stroll along the quayside at a nearby Mediterranean fishing village before having lunch overlooking the Mediterranean.
Transfer to Montpellier Airport. Depart from Montpellier Airport
