Pride Charlotte – Charlotte, NC
Charlotte Pride presents the annual lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning and queer (LGBTQ) Pride festival and other events in the Queen City. The annual festival is the largest LGBTQ Pride event in the Carolinas and the largest between Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
Charlotte Pride 2014
Charlotte Pride’s two-day cultural festival in the PNC Bank Festival Zone includes diverse national, regional and local entertainers, musicians and bands, and numerous participating vending booths, including art exhibitors, area non-profits, political candidates, retailers, food stands and more. The premier event is the culmination of a week-long slate of Charlotte Pride Week events highlighting the social, cultural, ethnic, artistic and political diversity of the metro Charlotte area’s LGBTQ community.
Festival Attractions
Flourish – A Celebration of the LGBTQ Arts
Bechtler Museum of Modern Art — A “festival within a festival,” Flourish will highlight Charlotte’s rich LGBTQ arts and cultural community. Presented at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Participating organizations include a variety of Charlotte LGBTQ arts, theatre, choral and other organizations.
Family Zone
Located on S. Tryon St., between 3rd & MLK Blvd. — Stop by the family zone for kid-friendly games and fun times, including interactive activities from Discovery Place on Saturday, Noon-6 p.m.
Face of Pride
Located in front of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art— Artist Edwin Gil will collect 10,000 rainbow thumbprints to create a 16-foot by 8-foot college modeled on the winner of the Charlotte Pride “Face of Pride” contest. More info…
Food Court
Located at S. Tryon St. at 4th St. — Charlotte Pride has an expanded and more friendly food court this year, with abundant seating and more food options. Grab a treat and sit down for a relaxing break from all the festival fun. When you’re refreshed, join the crowd again for more festival attractions!
LGBT-Friendly College Fair
Located on Levine Avenue of the Arts — Campus Pride & GLSEN present the National LGBT-Friendly College Fair, connecting LGBTQ students to colleges and universities from across the region and nation.
Know Your Status
Located on S. Tryon St., between MLK and Levine — Charlotte Pride partners with Carolinas CARE Partnership to bring you free and confidential HIV testing and counseling. Also, be sure to stop by our various HIV/AIDS service organizations, educational groups and others to learn more about HIV awareness, prevention and treatment.
