Cologne CSD – Right in the heart of Cologne the big CSD festival takes place. Three stages offer entertainment and information from Friday 6pm until Sunday late night. The line-up is diverse – you’ll find something for every mood and every taste. Apart from the line-up details on these pages you can find information about “Candlelight against oblivion”, a truly remarkable event taking place at the main stage on Saturday at 10pm. The Cologne Christopher Street Day (CSD) is the joint demonstration by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender and intersex people and their girlfriends, friends and all who support them. Our goals remain the full legal equality and full social recognition.

But the Cologne Pride also expresses confidence and joie de vivre.That we act and demonstrate together, makes up the success, the strength and the political and social impact of the CSD.

The power and energy of the Cologne scene, as revealed to Euro Pride 2002 prompted the organizers and promoters, to go one step further, the traditional CSD to expand the facet ColognePride and thus an “umbrella label” to establish. Thus, the Cologne Pride is today the large supporting program (over 100 events), which extends over a period of two weeks, and its highlight is the final CSD weekend. This weekend has been based for several years on four pillars: the solemn Benefit Gala of the AIDS-Hilfe Cologne in the Maritim Hotel, the large Colour Party, the three-day street festival in the heart of Cologne’s Old Town and the final demonstration through the center of Cologne. In addition to the expression of joy and pride of Teilnehmer_innen and Besucher_innen is especially the political message, as expressed, inter alia, in the motto, important. In it each year reflects another pressing issue for further improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender in our society.
