Recently in 2013 the CSD Constance had in common with the CSD Kreuzlingen repeated a globally visible signs set – it took place for the third time the world’s only cross-border Christopher Street Day.

Against exclusion, demarcation and limits itself exceeded countless participants, well-known organizations and prominence under great attention the German-Swiss border and witnessed the truly solemn showers of a historic moment.

The demonstration rally program, evening event and prior Culture Week attracts to where everyone breathes where cultural region, traditional history, nature and innovative economic power couples where simple is one of the best places to find each other … to Constance and in the Lake Constance region.

From small beginnings Large arose and this applies also and especially for the Christopher Street Day and his wide appeal, his company joined the task and his boundless orientation which is nowhere else so obvious and clear will.

In Konstanz wurde erstmals im Jahr 1992 ein CSD, damals mit nur 40 Teilnehmern, durchgeführt. Diese Frauen und Männer der ersten Stunde haben reichlich Courage bewiesen, indem sie im südbadischen Konstanz öffentlich unter der Regenbogenfahne demonstrierten.

Erst im Jahr 2005 kehrte der CSD in die Stadt zurück, nachdem der CSD am See zuvor durch den Lindauer CSD am See e.V. abwechselnd in Friedrichshafen, Ravensburg und in Lindau veranstaltet worden war. Nach Auflösung des CSD am See e.V. in Lindau und dessen Umwandlung in eine Interessengemeinschaft CSD am See gründete sich der CSD Konstanz e.V. als Rechtsnachfolger und zeichnete nunmehr verantwortlich. Beim CSD Südwest 2005 in Konstanz wurden bereits 3.500 Teilnehmer gezählt.

Im Jahr 2007 wurde der CSD Südwest auf Entscheidung der Schwulen Aktion Südwest, kurz SAS, erneut in Konstanz unter immenser Beteiligung als Grossevent veranstaltet.

Der weltweit erste EU-grenzüberschreitende CSD fand gemeinsam in Konstanz und Kreuzlingen (CH), zugleich als CSD Südwest & CSD am See, am 18.07.2009 statt. Vorgeschaltet war eine Vorwoche mit Programm in beiden Städten ab dem 11.07.2009. Der zweite grenzübeschreitende CSD fand am 16. Juli 2011 statt und zum 3. Mal wird er am 13. Juli 2013 stattfinden!
