On Saturday 29 November 2014 at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club in East London feast your eyes on DEEP TRASH ITALIA #3, which apparently, is... NOT FOR SALE!

Deep Trash Italia exhibition-cum-performance-club night is back at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s club with their third - NOT FOR SALE - episode.

The ‘episode’ features ready-to-wear happiness, all-you-can-eat disposable relationships, work exploitation, CCTV surveillance, credit card slavery, pleasureless commodities and much more. For one night ONLY Deep Trash Italia is REDUCED TO CLEAR – with an assortment of our BEST capitalist failures. So tear off your price tags because tonight there is NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE. If diamonds cannot be your best friends, WE CAN!

With musical performances from Benedicta and DJ Fantoni & LoGatto pumping all night the beats of international hits and more underground tunes, with a twist of Italian camp classics. TRASH N’ FRESH from Disco to the present and performances from the Feminist Women's Institute, Angel Rose & Oozing Gloop, Go! Push Pops, Pablo Pakula and Eloise Fornieles & Dan White. There will also be video, works and installations from Phil America, Chiara Bertin, Cristine Brache, Francesca Fini, Maria Teresa Gavazzi, Rona Geffen, Stephan Gross, Nisha Meshvania, Yumiko Ono, Emma O'Rourke, Yole Quintero, Empress Stah.

Highlights include:

PERFORMANCES

08:00 - 10:30pm

Feminist Women's Institute, Everyday Nakedness: Accounting, 2014

A durational performance that explores non-sexual female nudity through the everyday lives of freelance dancers and performance artists as they complete their tax returns.

00:15 - 00:30pm

Pablo Pakula, Masculine Expressions of my Creative Prowess (#work), 2014

The performance examines the relationship between masculinity, effort, labour, production, and commerce. By deploying objects intimately linked with notions of masculinity and effort, the performer aims to physically and visually explore the fetishization of a poetics of labour, thus problematising the nostalgia of the working classes’ ‘honest work’, as well as undermining heteronormative notions of man-as-worker.

VIDEOS

Phil America, White Ambition, 2013

Filmed in Bangkok, this project explores the relationship between the people of Thailand and their fixation with classism and beauty, and how it leads to their desire to have whiter skin through skin bleaching procedures.

Rona Geffen, Just Fuck Me, 2014

Editing, Cinematography by Fabio Dentella. Dancer Dwayne Strike. Assistant Director and Artistic consulting Stephanie Illouz. Produced by RG Unlimited.

The video presents an utopian world where lust and sex are acclaimed powers that liberate the individual and its community.
