National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC) – Washington, DC
NMAC is looking to hire a highly motivated Design & New Media Coordinator who has the ability to work independently. The responsibilities of this position include: maintain NMAC’s social media profile via Twitter, Apps, and Facebook. Coordinate the content and maintain various NMAC blogs. Work with outside consultants to produce NMAC’s e-newsletter (twice per week). Support the conference’s division to produce conference web page, app., call for abstracts, general announcement and the program book. Oversee and work with outside consultants to maintain NMAC’s web page. Work with senior staff and consultants to create interactive online publications. Support other NMAC divisions as needed.
Design & New Media Coordinator
NMAC’s mission is to educate, advocate, collaborate and compel – with urgency – for health equity within communities of color in our tireless quest to end the HIV epidemic.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the agency’s presence in social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
- Work with outside graphic artists to create a variety of marketing collateral, graphics, and signage in various formats
- Plan, record and edit various educational and promotional videos
- Generate ideas for and initiate integrated marketing campaigns that maximize brand awareness
- Collaborate with others across the organization to develop content
- Research and write background briefing papers
- Identify creative opportunities to maximize NMAC’s messages across all platforms
- Conduct regular evaluations of products produced
Ideal Candidate
- Commitment to health equity and racial justice
- Comfortable working with the LGBT community
- 3 or more years of experience working and writing about HIV
- Highly motivated team player,
- Experience managing outside consultants,
- 3 or more years of experience maintaining a nonprofit’s social media presence,
- Self starter that can work without lots of supervision
Qualifications and Experience Required
The detailed/deadline oriented and multi-task savvy incumbent will have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university and a minimum of five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of educational and work experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent discipline
- 2-4 years of experience preferred
- Nonprofit, public health or campaign experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency with all Microsoft Office tools
- Attention to detail, capable of editing and possessing excellent proofreading skills
- Ability to multi-task multiple projects at a time
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
