New Conservatory Theatre Center, San Francisco’s premiere LGBT performing arts institution seeks a Development Manager
The Development Manager supports New Conservatory Theatre Center’s (NCTC) annual fund development plan, with special attention directed at database management, individual donor cultivation & stewardship, and grant research/reporting. S/he will be responsible for gift processing, reporting and acknowledgment, as well as leading efforts to research, identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors. S/he will also support NCTC’s institutional funding efforts through research, grant reporting and occasional proposal preparation.
This position requires an outgoing individual with strong leadership, communication (verbal and written) and computer skills, as well as excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills. This position also requires availability on evenings and weekends, as needed, to support NCTC’s Donor Lounge, opening night receptions and other special events.

Responsibilities
- Work with Development Director to successfully implement all fund development campaigns and efforts
- Manage fundraising database including timely gift entry, reporting and acknowledgement, in addition to tracking all relevant engagement efforts (e.g. correspondence, invitations, solicitor assignments, etc.), generating mailing, playbill and prospect lists, and developing processes to accurately monitor campaign progress
- Lead and advance NCTC’s Producers Circle through prospect identification and cultivation, as well as stewardship of existing members (e.g. fulfilling benefits and coordinating receptions & behind-the-scenes events, etc.)
- Cultivate and steward major donors through Donor Lounge management and support services (e.g. ticket exchange, guest follow-up, etc.)
- Support all Direct Mail & Online Appeals through copywriting & design assistance, mailing list generation, and appeal documentation
• Work with Board of Directors to produce materials for bi-monthly meetings and coordinate house parties - Gather donor testimonials and photos
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Passion for NCTC’s mission, theatre, arts education
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of demonstrated and proven experience in grant writing
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce (or similar database) necessary; experience with Adobe Creative Suite highly desirable
- A proven commitment to customer service at the very highest standard
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong grammar, creative writing, proofreading, and word processing skills
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure of deadlines
Compensation
Commensurate with background and experience.
