Donor Services Coordinator for LGBT Foundation
Summary
The Donor Services Coordinator (DSC) helps implement annual fundraising activities that include solicitations, direct mail, and events. Working in close coordination with the Director of Development and Gift Planning (DDGP), the DC has significant and direct responsibility for key development activities and outcomes. The DC plays critical roles as data, team player, problem-solver, and innovator.
Essential Functions 1) The DSC is the lead data manager for the development department and will work to consistently provide improved data, and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of how Horizons uses data. Specifically:
- Enter development and donor-related data into database with great accuracy
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date donor records in Horizons’ database
- Manage, reconcile, and generate accurate database reports
- Assist with developing new and effective ways to present data internally and externally
- Track results and trends in data
- Produce accurate lists for mailings and other uses
2) The DSC has key roles in managing donor cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship, for annual giving, and special fundraising campaigns, and will:
- Plan, implement, track, and report on all direct mail solicitations of existing, lapsed, and past donors as well as implement innovative approaches to solicitation of new donors
- Provide support to board of directors, committees, and other solicitors
- Generate appropriate and timely acknowledgements for all donations received
- Track and report board progress towards goals established in board members’ annual Individual Fundraising Plans
3) The DSC provides administrative support to Horizons’ Door-Advised Funds program including:
- Enter grant recommendations for approval
- Quickly and professionally respond to requests for support from Donor-Advisors
- Coordinate mailing of quarterly statements
4)The DSC provides key support to Horizons’ events, including, but not limited to:
- Contribute to team-based planning and implementing of fundraising and philanthropic events
- Manage all event RSVPs, and provide “day-of” event support
- Assist as needed to ensure that event follow-ups and acknowledgements are completed, results are accurately recorded, and feedback regarding successes and needed improvements is sought out and used
5) The DSC plays an essential role as part of the development team
- Participate in annual planning process to set development goals and organizational work plan
- Manage specific and on-going projects that help ensure that development activities are happening on-time and with appropriate flow
- Be a resource for helping staff develop engaging presentations to board, donors or other audiences
- Assist the Director of Development & Gift Planning as needed
Other duties
- Provide back-up support to donor-advised fund program
- Assist in proofreading of development-related documents
- Attend events, staff meetings, board/development committee meetings, and other organizational meetings and events
- Ensure maintenance of accurate and complete development files
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three years of verifiable work history in an administrative role
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Working knowledge of with CRM databases, Salesforce preferred
- Ability to speak and write persuasively and professionally
- Superb attention to detail, and commitment to highest quality outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Creativity, outgoing personality, and ability to work well with many types of individuals
- Solid teamwork skills and ability to work successfully in a demanding nonprofit environment
- Commitment to the LGBT community
Physical Requirements: This job requires the ability to lift up to 45 lbs. and other physical abilities required to actively participate in event set-up and break-down.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Position eligible for complete and excellent benefit package, including health, dental, vacation, and 403(b).
