Elevation Tahoe – Welcome to Elevation Tahoe 2015, the first annual North Tahoe gay ski week! We have taken over a new area and stamped it with our signature blend of sporty days and sexy nights. Elevation Tahoe 2015
Looking for topnotch slope action? You will love Lake Tahoe. It was home to the 1960 Winter Olympics and with 3,600 skiable acres across six peaks, 43 lifts and over 270 trails, Tahoe’s Squaw Valley is one of the largest ski areas in the United States. The mountain also features the Gold-Coast Funitel: a beefed-out gondola system you won’t find anywhere else in the country.
“Even though this is a mecca for extreme skiers, you don’t have to be a stunt skier to enjoy the Squaw Valley skiing terrain. Those of us that like to keep the sticks or board in contact with the snow can also take pleasure in Squaw Valley. There is terrain for everyone from gnarly to nice, from tough to tame, and from scary to sedate.” PowderHounds.com
We believe that getting down the mountain should be the challenge, not getting to it. Only an hour drive from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and just over 200 miles from San Francisco, Squaw Valley is impressively convenient. Southern California riders can be from LAX to the slopes in less than three hours.
“One of a handful of resorts in the northern Sierra ringing Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley USA is a serious throwback in all the right ways. Hardcore steeps on the mountain, laid-back vibe at the base, renowned ski program committed to raising the next generation of rippers, and strong local ski culture.” Outside Magazine
Once you arrive, prepare to experience Tahoe in signature Elevation fashion. Seven events over four days, filled with friendly faces, full drinks and zero attitude. Meet on the mountain and mingle at après-ski. Flirt a little. Smile a lot. Conquer the slope together by day. By the time night falls you aren’t surrounded by strangers, you’re dancing with friends.
“Elevation is known, first and foremost, as a friendly event,” says Tom Whitman, who started Elevation in 2003. “People leave the attitude at home. Year after year, I hear stories from people about the new friends they made at Elevation, or the boyfriend they met, or the camaraderie they experienced.”
Looking for something different for your winter gay-cation? Tahoe might be the third resort we’re taking over but the Elevation experience is one-of-a-kind. It’s a place to hit the slopes as hard as you hit the dance floor. It’s a place to make friends, make memories, or maybe even make out. To ski, snowboard or shake your ass. Come as you are. It’s leaving that might be the hard part!
See you on the slopes!
