Face Creams
There are so many different skin types out there that not all face creams require the same usage. If you have a more oily skin then little cream is recommended whereas a dryer skin would require a little extra, so play around and you’ll soon find a cream that suites you best and the quantity to use. I always have the urge to take a large amount of cream then spend the next 3 hours trying to work it in. Instead you should take a little on your finger tips and massage into the skin starting at the nose ridge and run below the eyes and up towards the scalp as if lifting the skin up. Don’t forget to add a little behind the ears and also around the neck. If you still have any product left over on your hands I always rub into the elbows to keep smooth.
L’Occitane CADE 5 in 1 youth Cream: RRP £31.00 (50ml)
★★★★★
L’Occitane is a company that keeps on pleasing and there is no disappointment here with their CADE range. The 5 in 1 youth cream for men is there to protect, sooth, firm, fight ageing and feel comfortable. This soft and thick cream is absorbed by the face in seconds and instantly makes you feel more alive and smelling great. A quality product.
Nico Moisturising Night Cream: RRP £45.00 (50ml)
★★★
Just because you can’t see your face at night doesn’t mean you can’t have a little night work done whilst you sleep. This night cream looks a little like fibre hair gel with an elastic feel. When you apply it is a thick covering which feels like you’re adding a mask. However, whilst you sleep the cream is absorbed and fills in all those lines you never like to see first thing in the morning. For the price a little disappointed in the packaging which is a heavy duty chunky plastic, reminding me of make up I use to borrow as a kid from my girl friends.
Organic Trevarno mens facial moisturiser: RRP £12.00 (30ml)
★★★★
With its lemon fragrance and butter cream appearance you first think is it edible, drawing up images of Mrs Doubtfire and her meringue face mask. However this delightful organic face cream is as pleasing to use as it is to smell. Quite oily to start but massages and absorbs well. With Lemongrass and rosewood essential oils, you’re left with a matt look and feeling fresh.
After Inked: RRP £14.99 (75ml)
★★★★
This is a cream generally sold for the application to new tattoos to help with deep moisturising and healing properties. However I’m also told it helps with sun damage and ageing spots. The cream is a thick and quite oily cream enriched with grape seed oil for a deeper healing moisturiser. The only downside found was the after smell, reminding me of a fruity Blackpool rock.

Eye rejuvenators
Sometimes after a heavy nights clubbing, or a long day at work you may require to give the eyes a little lift or extra sparkle. Not everyone keeps cold teaspoons in the fridge for the eyes so where do we turn to? Well, here are a few eye sparklers you may wish to consider. Personally I tend to find the promises are often more than the reality and if you use a good face cream the more subtle eye creams are a little redundant.
L’Occitane Verdon instant energy eye gel: RRP £12.00 (10ml)
★★
This smart little product comes with a metal eye roller ball which if kept in the fridge also offers a cool massage to the eyes a little like the cold teaspoons. Applies like a thick wet liquid which requires massaging in. The sticky heat soon dissipates yet I find a little shiny for my liking.
Nico anti wrinkle snake serum: RRP £95.00 (30ml)
★★★
A premium product again in a dreadful package. For nearly £100 you’d expect a quality looking product. Instead what’s offered is a large whiteboard marker pen sized tube. However packaging aside one squirt is enough for both eyes and massages in nicely leaving soft smooth matt looking eyes. A subtle floral fragrance adds to the products plus points.
Organic Trevarno eye cream: RRP £17.30 (30ml)
★★★★
Another organic lemon scented cream from Trevarno, this time for the eyes. Quite a soft cream which absorbs well beneath the eyes leaving a cooling feeling. A nice little purple glass jar filled with enriching oils including almond, primrose, olive and also beeswax.
