Over the last four years, iconic names as Boy George, Kim Wilde, Village People, The Human League, Gloria Gaynor, Holly Johnson, Bucks Fizz, Bananarama and many more have performed, and this year continues to bring the finest in 80s pop to the festival stage.
The Henley-on-Thames festival proved so popular that 2011 saw the launch of Rewind Scotland, followed by Rewind Festivals in South Africa in 2012, with Dubai and Bangkok later this year.
“Rewind Scotland – The 80s Festival” will take place from Friday 26th - Sunday 28th July at the historic setting of Scone Palace, Perthshire; home of The Earls of Mansfield and the crowning palace of the Kings of Scotland. As with the past two Rewind Scotland festivals, this year’s promises the crème de la crème of classic 80’s pop performers. The line-up includes Ali Campbell’s UB40, OMD, Jason Donovan, Tony Hadley, Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle, Howard Jones, Soul II Soul, Kim Wilde, Sonia, Nik Kershaw and many more.
“Rewind - The World’s Biggest 80s Festival” returns for its fifth year from Friday 16th - Sunday 18th August at Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames. Rewind attracts 40,000 festival-goers and this year features an exclusive UK festival performance from the iconic The B-52’s on the Saturday and a rare UK appearance from The Pointer Sisters on the Sunday. Other highlights include Kim Wilde, Nik Kershaw, Belinda Carlisle, Sonia, Heaven 17, Billy Ocean, ABC, plus many more.
New to the Henley festival this year is the Snoozebox, a portable hotel. Snoozebox is the brainchild of ex-Formula 1 racing driver, David Coulthard and can be booked through the Rewind website.
For the ultimate in luxury, festival goers at Henley or Scotland can pre-order a When Nature Calls wristband for access to the 'Loo Lounge', a marquee with a café and chill out zone. With warm water hand washing facilities and mirrors, the loos here are cleaned after every use.
Both festivals also feature loads of additional highlights including the Silent Disco, Live Karaoke Bar, plus Camping and Glamping (aka Glamorous Camping) options.
