The parade will feature floats from hundreds of local sports teams, cultural and community groups as well as other gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender organizations. The parade will also feature both gay and gay-friendly businesses that join us in celebrating the significant contributions of their LGBT employees and clients.
These events honor an important tradition that began in Montréal in 1979. Participating groups and businesses will be encouraged to design their floats incorporating this year’s theme of “Our Flag, Our Fire: ORANGE”
Another exciting addition to these events will be the designation of the Montréal Pride Grand Marshals. The names of these two members of the LGBT community, one selected for his/her contribution to the visibility of the LGBT movement and one for his/her contribution to our community, will be announced in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, the Montréal Pride will be giving a series of special awards for the most exciting, crowd-pleasing and unforgettable floats.
- Most Crowd-Pleasing Float
- Best Expression of the 2014 Theme
- Best Choreography by a group
- Best Costume and Make-up
- Community Group Float of the year
- Corporate Float of the year, as well as special “Jury Prizes” to be awarded at the discretion of our panel of distinguished judges.
Our panel of judges will be unveil in a few weeks.
Join us on René-Lévesque Boulevard West between Guy and Sanguinet Streets on August 17, beginning at 13:00, for the 2014 Montréal Pride Celebrations!
