The huzbear and I have been together for a couple of years now, and my biggest concern is we are going to start dressing alike. Yea, we are about the same size and often share clothes. I dread the day when we show up somewhere in the same outfit. What’s a bear to do?
Fear of the Clones
Send your questions to Hot & Heavy
Hot: You know they say that pets and owners tend to look alike over time, same goes for boyfriends. And before long you are just a single entity, as in “Here are The Bears.” You are just inches away from matching track suits. Step away from the sale rack!!
Heavy: Fashion Rule #47 – Unless you actively engage in a sporting activity, you can’t wear the uniform. If you are a teenage girl, it may be ok to wear the boyfriend’s football jersey – but honey that look has sailed. And unless you are Pussy from the Soprano’s – track suits are a no-no. Now, what was the question?
Hot: Fear of Matching Outfits . . .
Heavy: Sometimes fear is a good thing; it prevents you from doing bad things. Like last week when Hot tried to pick up that cute little flight attendant – half his age . . .
Hot: Hey, he was cute, and I promised to return him to his upright position when we were done. Now about those shopping tips?
Heavy: First of all let’s acknowledge that there are a few staples to most men’s wardrobes, so it’s ok, if you both want to wear jeans. One idea is to try distinctly different colors. I am a fair red hair kind of guy and bf is a dark Latin. He can wear yellows, gold and orange. I can’t. I tend towards blues and uhm – blues.
Hot: Yes, you are known to even branch out to light blue.
Heavy: I ignore that. Honestly, here’s what we do. Are you ready? We look at each before we leave the house. If we seem a little too matched, one of us changes. Plus, bf has a few things you wouldn’t catch me dead in, so that helps too!!
Hot: You mean like a gym?
Heavy: Bitch!!
