Hull Pride Crowdfunds For Film Festival

<p>Event organisers from the Pride in Hull LGBT+ Film Festival are seeking support and contributions towards their first event which takes place from 19th- 23rd September 2014.</p> <p>by Newsdesk | 13th September 2014</p><p> </p><p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4614116946.jpg" width="459" height="246" alt="" title=""/></p> <p></p><p>A diverse range of films and documentaries will be shown at Kardomah 94 in Hull, catering for the LGBT+ community and anyone interested in quality cinema. </p><p> </p><p>The festival has been organised by Hull LGBT+ Community Pride, a not-for-profit organisation and has a diverse group of passionate individuals as its trustees. The community group has inclusivity at the heart of its ethical policies and hopes to enrich the lives of community members, irrespective of age and gender across the diverse spectrum.</p><p> </p><p>Trustee and Festival organiser Graham Jenkinson says:</p><p> </p><p>“As a voluntary organisation we have little financial resource as we have no official funding streams and we organise the events in-house. We are asking local businesses and individuals to help us with donations to pay for the venue and licence fees for the Film Festival. We are inviting directors and producers to visit Hull for Q&As sessions and will be covering their general expenses. Therefore, our appeal via a crowd-funding website to raise sufficient funds. We offer free tickets as rewards and festival passes available to pledgers sponsors.”</p><p> </p><p>Additional funding for the festival is required for marketing and advertising purposes and to secure funds to cover the licence fees for the film titles which are being provided by award-winning Peccadillo Pictures.
