Development Director – Jacksonville, FL
Organization Description: The Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network, Inc. (JASMYN) is a non-profit youth development organization working to provide safety and support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people in Northeast Florida, while engaging in community –wide change that improves the lives of our youth. Founded in 1994, JASMYN has expanded in programs and revenue dollars in response to the growing need and opportunity for government contracts and local support. In 2013, the annual budget exceeded $900,000, and approximately 22% was raised through individual contributions and local events. In 2013, the 15 member board of directors began to explore the feasibility of conducting a capital campaign to respond to the need for space to contain LGBT youth programs. A feasibility study in December 2013 recommended that JASMYN grow the internal capacity for fundraising by creating a position for a Development Director to steward and solicit major gifts and support a capital campaign.
