LGBT Campaign Social Media Group Manager
Rescue Social Change Group (Rescue SCG) is searching for a professional and experienced Social Media Group Manager to establish, maintain and expand the online presence of a Rescue SCG’s LGBT campaign. These are long-term campaigns and social marketing programs that primarily focus on tobacco prevention. This new campaign is designed to reach Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) young adults (ages 18 – 24) nationwide. It will incorporate market research in the development of effective digital campaigns and advertising. The LGBT Campaign Social Media Group Manager role supports these efforts on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by implementing effective and cutting-edge strategies to build the audience, increase sustained engagement and drive traffic to campaign media. Support would be provided either by the Group Manager personally or by the Group Manager’s growing team of digital and social media developers and managers.

Rescue SCG is a for-profit behavior change marketing agency. Clients include local, state, and federal government organizations as well as not-for-profits, schools, and foundations mainly addressing tobacco use, with growing services in violence, binge drinking, and obesity prevention. Rescue SCG provides services in marketing, research, and strategic planning to execute social change efforts nationwide. Rescue SCG efforts are focused on youth and young adult populations to cause behavior change and/or policy change. Rescue SCG’s annual sales have grown over 100% in the past 3 years and are expected to more than quadruple in the next 18 months thanks to new, secured contracts. The Rescue SCG team is youthful, creative and energized, challenging industry standards to develop effective and sustainable solutions to public health issues.
Position Description:
The LGBT Campaign Social Media Group Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and expanding the online presence of Rescue SCG’s LGBT campaign efforts. The position reports to the LGBT Brand Director. The role of the LGBT Campaign Social Media Group Manager entails activities pertaining to, but not limited to:
Digital and Social Media:
• Extensive use of social media technology is required;
• Manage client accounts that exclusively focus on LGBT campaign digital and social media;
• Generate paid, owned and earned media for campaigns;
• Develop strategies to drive traffic to social media pages and engage young adults in conversation;
• Ensure regular dissemination of campaign messages through social media including external site profiles (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and internally hosted blogs;
• Develop creative concepts for media to use online such as graphics, videos, and emails;
• Write blog posts, promotional emails and social media content for campaign;
• Create digital and social media applications using social media technology, social CRM and management tools;
• Plan, develop and manage paid media on Facebook, Twitter, Google (Adwords and YouTube)
• Manage social media-related vendors such as social media management partners and technology partners;
• Compile reports on social media efforts using internal templates and professional services;
• Review and approve digital media buys from partner agencies;
• Communicate directly with clients when necessary.
Team Management:
• Hire, train and manage digital and social media support staff, such as developers and community managers;
• Review the work of the digital and social media team regularly.

• Other duties as required.
Candidate Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree +4 years relevant experience OR 9 years relevant experience OR Master’s Degree +2 years relevant experience
Minimum Age:
Must be 21 y/o or older
Environment:
Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, computer and Internet access at home. Must be available to work non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends. All business-related environments are tobacco-free.
Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars. Able to manually lift up to 40 pounds from the floor to table height and back to the floor.

Ability to see the big picture while keeping track of details;
Working knowledge social media sites and social media tools;
Ability to evaluate new tools for potential adoption in the company;
Ability to communicate with clients on delicate matters;
Strong verbal communication skills;
Strong editing and writing skills for various client reports, marketing materials, etc.
Desired Skills:
Experience working in the LGBT community and/or with LGBT young adults;
Experience with public health efforts;
Creative experience to support creative team members and develop new media.
Non-tobacco-use is highly preferred because we only have tobacco-free environments and also to be consistent with our tobacco prevention campaign goals.
Training:
A comprehensive training would be provided to the selected candidate. The training will be conducted at a Rescue SCG office and paid for by RSCG. This position can be based in San Diego, San Francisco or Los Angeles but will include mandatory training in San Diego for the first 6 months of employment. Temporary housing and transportation will be provided while training in San Diego.

Salary/Status:
FT Exempt Position. Salary Based on Salary History, Experience and Education Level; Salary Range Possible $57,000 – $76,000
