Women and Families Center – Meriden, CT
The WFC Sexual Assault Crisis Program has an opening for an LGBT Case Manager/Advocate. This is a full time (35 hrs/wk) position with benefits, and is based in our Middletown office.
The LGBT Case Manger/Advocate responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- the provision of crisis intervention, support, advocacy and referral services to victims of sexual violence and their loved ones;
- support the Centers sexual violence hotline, including evening and weekend on-call hours;
- community outreach within our service area;
- represent the agency at multi-disciplinary team meetings;
- statistics and record-keeping.
Also includes work performed off site, medical facilities and the court system. Position requires a flexible schedule, which may include some evenings, weekends and holidays in order to meet organizations demands.
LGBT Case Manager Advocate
- High School Diploma and two years of professional experience in human service field required; or a degree in a related human service field.
- Experience with LGBT community desired.
- Counseling experience and experience working within a diverse team preferred.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations.
- Experience in sexual assault crisis intervention desired.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain certification as Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor.
- Successful applicants must have access to transportation.
Rate of Pay: $14.50 – $14.75 per hour
