Responding to tonight’s equal marriage vote in Scotland, LGBT Labour Scotland Chair, Ailsa Tweedie said:
“Scotland can be proud tonight of taking a first step toward marriage equality. We witnessed a landslide this evening with 98 MSPs in favour of equal marriage; but there is still a long road to travel before this bill becomes law. LGBT Labour Scotland is proud to say that the overwhelming majority of Labour MSPs voted for this bill. The Labour Party continues to be, as it always has been and always will be the party of equality.”
