Immigration Equality’s Major Gifts Manager will work closely with the Development Director and Executive Director to conceptualize and execute a complete program of fundraising activities, with an emphasis on major gifts. The Major Gifts Manager will be an integral part of a Development team, and also assist with other fundraising campaigns, including special events, direct marketing, corporate giving, and foundations and grants. In addition, the major Gifts Officer Manager will closely collaborate with the Development Director and Executive Director to develop and implement fundraising strategies to increase individual gifts and secure new major gifts. The Major Gifts Manager will be personally responsible for ensuring that Immigration Equality’s fundraising and donor relations are of the same high caliber as its legal services and advocacy work.

Responsibilities
- Work with Development and Legal teams to identify appropriate donor prospects (individual, corporate and philanthropic foundations). Create and execute plans for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of these prospects.
- Develop ‘moves management plan’ for all assigned prospects, write major gift proposals when appropriate, ask for the donation and close the gift
- Personally develop relationships with prospects, solicit prospects
- Develop Immigration Equality’s Leadership Giving Circle program
- Establish a pipeline to increase individual gifts to become major gifts
- Collaborate with the Development Director to develop annual fundraising goals and strategies
- Draft compelling solicitation campaigns and an annual report that communicate Immigration Equality’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities
- Manage the development database with precision in Salesforce
- Support Executive Director’s donor stewardship and prospecting
- Collaborate with program team to gather data, testimonials, and stories
- Assist the Development team with other areas of fundraising as needed
- Hire and manage department interns
Qualifications
Our office is a fun, open-plan space that enables free flow of ideas. The ideal candidate is a well-organized, extremely detail-oriented, resourceful individual. The right person for the job will have:
- Bachelor’s degree, plus at least three years fundraising experience
- General development experience in all areas of fundraising
- Specific experience in cultivating and soliciting major gifts
- Impeccable writing skills, including editing and proofreading
- Excellent research, analytical, planning and organizational skills, and demonstrated experience managing large projects on budget and on deadline
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and prioritize.
- Experience with online fundraising; knowledge of Salesforce a plus
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
