Major Gifts Officer New York GLAAD
Since 1985, GLAAD has operated on a successful model of media advocacy – shaping and changing American culture surrounding the LGBT community through the words and images shown in the print, digital, and entertainment media. As the definition and reach of media has grown, so too has GLAAD’s scope of work including images in advertising, and digital/new media. In addition, with the ever-rising rates in international syndication and consumption of American media, and with the growing prominence of major international sporting and media events, like the Olympics, GLAAD’s global footprint continues to expand. By promoting fair and accurate representations of LGBT people, GLAAD has played a vital role in moving public opinion in favor of LGBT equality globally. GLAAD executes not only its own cadre of successful programs, but also partners with organizations, corporations, and individuals across the country and around the world to share resources, provide media training, and create communications strategies to further promote equality through the stories and images of LGBT people.
