Make A Gay Pancake For Equality

<p>AS you might know today is Pancake Day... Well an LGBT+ activist has created the perfect pancake to show his support for equality and he's sending one to President Putin.</p> <p>by Newsdesk | 4th March 2014</p><p></p><p> </p><p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4606801297.jpg" width="460" height="582" alt="photo credit: Anthony Proctor" title="photo credit: Anthony Proctor"/></p> <p></p><p>Luke Trevaskis who supports the <a href="http://www.thegayuk.com/magazine/4574334751/NEWS-The-%C2%A31m-Goal-To-Open-Gay-Hostel-In-Memory-Of-Murdered-Son/5887169">Michael Causer Foundation</a> has created the perfect pancake to show his support for equality.</p><p></p><p>The Michael Causer Foundation is a trust set up in Liverpool for the LGBT community following the brutal murder of gay teenager Michael Causer in 2008.</p><p></p><p> </p><p><img src="http://www.thegayuk.com/communities/8/004/009/928/388/images/4606801279.jpg" width="460" height="673" alt="photo credit: Anthony Proctor" title="photo credit: Anthony Proctor"/></p> <p></p><p>In a statement to TheGayUK Luke said:</p><p></p><p>'As the Winter Olympics come to a close in Sochi, I want to make a stand against Vladimir Putin to reconsider <a href="http://www.thegayuk.com/magazine/4574334751/RUSSIA-Passes-Anti-Gay-Bill-To-Outlaw-%E2%80%98Promoting%E2%80%99-Homosexuality-436---0/5890111">the anti-gay law that he passed last year banning homosexual propaganda</a>.</p><p></p><p>'I have been brought up in a world that should believe in total equality and the basic human right that all people should have the liberty of freedom of expression. By signing this bill, I believe Vladimir Putin is directly responsible for adding to the inequality of humanity today and I urge him strongly to reconsider his position. All people are born equally free and it is surprising that in 2014, there are still government leaders around the world that are prepared to publicly place themselves above equality. I am compelled to make a statement today to ensure my voice is heard - to live in a democratic world does not mean that we should be guaranteed by law that our differences are regarded similarly, equality in law should guarantee that our differences are regarded differently.</p><p></p><p>'I hope Vladimir Putin and leaders all over the world take note as it is my intention to see total equality in this world in my lifetime.
