Marcus Collins, who proved he had serious star quality and a soulful set of pipes, the very first time he stepped on the X Factor audition stage, is set to embark on his first solo tour of the UK. Fresh from the success of a Top 10 debut album, the ‘scouse’ sensation’ will embark on a 14 date UK tour from 12 September – 16 October.

One of only three X Factor contestants to collaborate with their mentor after the show, Marcus has been working with and supported by Take That legend and former X Factor judge Gary Barlow ever since; ensuring Marcus is one of the hottest new talents the UK has to offer.
Before his eagerly-awaited second album drops, Liverpool’s finest will embark on his solo tour with a band of top quality musicians. Expect show-stopping Motown and Motown-inspired classics, the latest pop hits given a soulful spin and also some brand new songs, all performed with breathtaking energy in Marcus’s inimitable style.
Audiences will be treated to some eardrum-tingling surprises, as the silky voiced wonder delivers both vibrant, passionate boundary-pushing performances intermingled with more stripped down, laid back grooves. From a deliciously different spin on old school favourites by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Anita Baker and Luther Vandross right through to Marcus’ take on modern classics from The White Stripes and Sam Smith, there’s something for all tastes. All performed with eye-popping showmanship and a mega-talented group of live musicians.
“To me, Motown is the epitome of what music is all about. A lot of the music we listen to today owes its roots to the Motown era. The passion, the hooks, the melodies, the backing vocals, the styling; to me, Motown is second to none. This new show is about celebrating those artists who were inspired by that era and putting my twist on those classic songs.”
Marcus has also been busy writing and working on new tracks in the studio, including his latest single Sweet Thang with fresh production talent Kamarua. Check out the new track here.
Since his success on the X Factor, Marcus’ talents have not just been restricted to the pop arena - he received rave reviews for his turn as Seaweed Stubbs in the UK tour of smash hit musical Hairspray in 2013. He is also busy preparing for his second album release.
