Chronicling a lesbian affair, the video offers an LGBT smorgasbord of visuals rarely seen in mainstream media.
“Little by Little” is an ambitious – and potentially controversial – follow up to their award winning Lego video, “What if it was you”. In this video, we watch the lead character (played by band member AJ Leblanc) struggle to break free from a stagnated relationship, only to end up in the eager arms of another woman. It’s lesbian bed death, and its antithesis, personified in an emotionally and sexually charged four minutes.
While the video is among the group’s racier offerings, Leblanc explains the story has universal appeal: “We told the story from a gay angle, but regardless of who you are, I think the themes are something that everyone can relate to”.
“People will either love it or hate it”, adds singer Meagan Lanchbery, “But it’s an authentic story. And it deserves to be told”.About Perpetual Detour
Perpetual Detour calls Halifax, Canada, home. This AC foursome’s melodic-rock sound has been compared to the likes of Natalie Merchant, Coldplay and The Tragically Hip. Their second album, “Tried of the Scenery”, is set to drop in the second half of 2014.

Ulrike Lunacek MEPA liquid likely to be butyric acid—a toxic but non-lethal substance which develops an unbearable smell—was thrown at her and the interviewer.
While counter-demonstrations are common, this time a small “March for the Family” took place at the same time, a targeted assault like this has never happened before.
150 000 people joined this year to participate in the Pride.
Commenting the events, Ulrike Lunacek said: “I’m very calm about this direct personal attack. I trust the police will do their job, and bring the lone perpetrator to justice.”
“The stench stayed for hours, but thankfully no-one was hurt although our clothes and video materials were destroyed. I’m sad and irritated this took place in my hometown, but this will only make me stronger in my determination to end fear and hate-mongering in Europe.”
LGBT Intergroup Vice-President Sophie in ‘t Veld MEP joined in condemnation, and declared: “I am shocked and repulsed by this attack. I wish such attacks were a thing of the past, but instead they remind us that one in four LGBT people were attacked or threatened with homophobic violence in the year preceding the FRA LGBT Survey.”
“We must take this as a serious signal that homophobes are prepared to do anything, including up close, personal violence, to impose their views. Political and religious leaders have to show more responsibility, and speak out strongly against homophobic hatred and violence, rather than tacitly accept it or even fan it.”

The poster was developed in consultation with Traveller, Roma and LGBTQ youth groups to increase the visibility of LGBTQ Travellers and Roma both in their own communities and in wider society.
Speaking at the launch of the poster, John Paul Collins of Pavee Point stated the importance of acknowledging and accepting LGBTQ members of ethnic minority groups in Ireland.
“We have long been aware of the taboo around sexuality within the Traveller and Roma communities and this poster is an instrumental first step in challenging that taboo and building a greater culture of acceptance for all Travellers and Roma, regardless of their sexuality.”
Also speaking at the launch David Carroll, Executive Director of BeLonG To – Ireland’s national LGBT youth service said:
“We work with young people who are both members of the LGBT Community, and the Traveller and Roma communities. We see first hand the extreme isolation that they can experience – very often experiencing both racism and homophobia. This poster campaign aims to reach out to these and other young people, their friends, families and communities with a positive and empowering message – that it’s completely ok to be an LGBT Traveller or Roma young person and that if you are – we are here to support you”
The poster is the result of months of partnership work between Pavee Point, BeLonG To and LGBT Pavee and is the first step in a longer process of inclusion to create national safe spaces and increase dialogue around sexuality in the Traveller and Roma communities.
Pavee Point is a strong supporter of LGBTQ rights and the organisation has marched in Dublin Pride for the past five years. This poster launch occurs on the first day of Traveller Pride, a national celebration of Traveller culture and achievement. BeLonG To has been a strong advocate for Traveller and Roma young people’s rights and both organisations have worked to support each other’s initiatives since 2003.

At the official opening Zachs will be accompanied by Norway’s minister for Equality and Social Inclusion, Solveig Horne (in the picture), from the populist Progress party (Frp).
”I am happy and proud to attend the opening of Pride House and Euro Pride 2014 in Oslo,” says Norway’s Minister of Equality and Social Inclusion, Solveig Horne.
On Friday June 20th the annual EuroPride, this year hosted by Oslo Pride, officially opens with Pride House at the House of Literature in the capitol of Norway, Oslo.
”Pride House is a unique venue and the largest LGBT political workshop organized on a voluntary basis in Norway, with over 50 different debates, lectures and workshops. During EuroPride Pride House will set politics and human rights issues in an LGBT perspective on the agenda in Norway and Europe. It is important for me as Minister for Equality to promote the event and show that we in Norway take clear position and say that lgbt-rights are human rights,” says Horne.
It’s about challenging ourselves and others
Pride House is organized by LLH Oslo and Akershus (LLH OA), the local branch of the Norwegian LGBT organisation. Pride House is organized together with Amnesty International Norway, as well as a number of other large and small organizations.
– Pride House is about challenging ourselves. Therefore we rejoice that the minister for equality will take part in the event and that she takes the opportunity to learn about the LGBTIQ-issues that Pride House puts on the agenda, says Kathrine Veland, leader of the Pride House-committee.
The chairperson of LLH OA, Hans Heen Sikkeland, says it great news that Horne and Max Zach finds their way to Pride House, which marks the beginning of the summer’s biggest and most beautiful queer adventure in Oslo – EuroPride 2014.
Important signal
”Everything is ready for what will be the largest party in Oslo, after our national celebration on May 17th. The fact that Horne will open EuroPride and Pride House sends an important signal not only to all of us here at home, but also to politicians, activists and others who follow us throughout Europe. In contrast to the situation here in Norway, where there are continuous progress on LGBT rights, we see that LGBT rights in several European countries are in retreat, says Sikkeland.
At the official opening there will be entertainment by Max Zachs. Max is one of Britiains most well known Trans people, due in part to a role in Channel Four’s hit TV Series ‘My Transsexual Summer’ and their regular appearances in the media and at LGBTQ events advocating for Transgender people. Nils Bech, Norway’s perhaps most personal and distinctive musician and songwriter, also performs at the opening.

EuroPride is Europe´s biggest Gay Pride Festival. This year it’s hosted by Oslo, Norway June 20th-29th. Stars such as Lady Gaga has performed at EuroPride and this year debut artist Hector Lopez enters the EuroPride stage with his dancers, and is more than likely to get his big breakthrough.
Charismatic Hector has been a professional dancer and choreographer in Los Angeles, Stockholm and Gothenburg. In the music vid Hector really shows off his fab dance skills.#Lovemoves
“The EuroPride song is titled ´Love´ and is about how it feels to love someone. I want to show that people’s feelings are the true and equal, regardless what sexual orientation they have”, says Lopez.
Linda Sonnvik and Chris Oscarsson wrote “Love”, a song surprisingly well fit for the occasion, since the slogan for EuroPride 2014 came to be #LoveMoves. Lopez hooked up with the writers aiming at a summer single – landing the EuroPride anthem!
Hector believes many will dance to the banger and sing a long to the catchy “All I Want Is Lo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-ove!”
The EuroPride artist Lopez also believes we constantly need to be reminded that human rights should not be taken for granted.
“It’s not just in Russia there is a homophobic backlash. At home, in Sweden, the far-right wing Populist Party, Swedish Democrats, has been elected to the Swedish Parliament, and there still are people who think I should not be able to start a family because I’m gay. Does it end there or will it get worse,” asks Lopez.
Free show in Pride Park
During the ten-day long festival EuroPride, the organizer Oslo Pride shall through art, culture, politics and party, set human rights and lhbtiq issues on the agenda.
On Wednesday 25th of June 2014 Oslo Pride opens Pride Park, situated at The City Hall Square, in the center of Oslo. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, the The City Hall Square will be transformed into a great lhbtiq village, with a lively atmosphere.
“It is important for me to contribute, because EuroPride in Oslo is all about the struggle for our common human rights. No one should be able to prohibit others’ love,” says Lopez, who will perform on several occasions in Pride Park.
In Pride Park Oslo Pride builds a large stage for shows and concerts. Here you will find great food and even better drink(s), here you can dance your boots off at MiniSo, and shacke loose at the House bar. In Pride Park you can visit a variety of booths and stands (such as Norway Bears, SLM, Gaysir and even the Norwegian Church were present at Pride Park in 2013).

“It is important to me that Oslo is an inclusive city. We will show this during EuroPride, and all year-round,” says the Mayor of Oslo Fabian Stang.
He and Deputy Mayor Libe Rieber-Mohn are on behalf of the municipality host and organizer of the human rights conference during EuroPride 2014 this summer. The conference is organized in cooperation with LLH Oslo and Akershus, the local department of LLH – The Norwegian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Organization. Co-organizers are also Amnesty International Norway and The United Nations Association of Norway.
“It is important in settings where discrimination occurs that we raise the rainbow flag and show that we stand together. No one should have to put up with being treated badly, all people are of equal worth”, says Mayor Stang.
“We know that hate crime and discrimination against LGBT people sometimes occurs in the city. This is not acceptable”, says Deputy Mayor Rieber-Mohn.
The Town Hall Square and the City Hall in use simultaneously during EuroPride
The human rights conference will be held in the Oslo City Hall, at the same time as The City Hall Square in front of it is transformed into Pride Park, which is the main gathering place (with about 40,000 visits each year ) during the festival Oslo Pride.
Hans Heen Sikkeland, chairperson of LLH OA, emphasizes the importance of using both the Town Hall Square and the City Hall simultaneously during EuroPride.
“At the conference we will work to strengthen human rights for LGBT in Oslo and many other European cites. This is important in order to make our cities accessible for everyone, where everyone can live their life without worries, as people do at the City Hall Square in Pride Park during our festival”, says Sikkeland.
The City of Oslo has invited its friendship cities and NGOs throughout Europe to the conference.
“It is an important message from Oslo, who among others has applied for the Winter Olympics in 2022, that we organizing such a conference during EuroPride. We are very proud to have EuroPride in Oslo, says Hallstein Bjercke, Minister for Cultural Affairs and Business in the city government.
Strengthened cooperation between public authorities and civil society
At the conference representatives from cities across Europe meet up together with people from civil society, sports and NGOs working for human rights. Cities like London, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Barcelona have expressed interest, and submissions from civil society organizations worldwide are currently being receiving.
Organizations and others that are interested in attending the humans rights conferance in Oslo during EuroPride can enter the conferance here!

By adopting this law, Denmark has become the first European country to delete the ‘Gender Identity Disorder’ diagnosis as a necessary requirement in the gender recognition process.
Other advances include the repeal of preconditions as compulsory sterilisation or any other surgical intervention. 13 EU Member States require transgender people to undergo sterilisation before their gender identity can be recognised.
Danish law already guaranteed that transgender persons can remain in an existing marriage following a recognised change of gender. 13 EU Member States require a divorce before recognising a trans person’s gender identity.
A six month waiting period is still foreseen. Furthermore, gender recognition procedures are only available to persons aged 18 or older.
Dennis de Jong MEP, Vice-President of the LGBT Intergroup, reacted: “The Danish Parliament did something revolutionary, yet very sensible: It has made the persons concerned the sole decision makers on their gender and body, without any conditions imposed by the state.”
“Finally a European country recognises the right to self-determination for transgender people and I encourage all other countries to follow Denmark’s example.”
Sirpa Pietikäinen MEP, Vice-President of the LGBT Intergroup, added: “Denmark took the Council of Europe Recommendations, which read that gender recognition procedures should be “quick, transparent and accessible”, and free from abusive requirements, very seriously.”
“I am very pleased that transgender people in Denmark will no longer be stigmatised as mentally ill, before seeing their felt gender recognised. In this regard, I encourage the Commission and Member States to continue their work towards full depathologization of transgender people in the World Health Organisation.”
