by Newsdesk | 27th April 2014
THEGAYUK.COM would like to offer the following correction: Alan Day will not be voting against same-sex marriage, it will be David McNarry UKIP member of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
The UKIP candidate voiced his opposition to same-sex marriage saying: 'No government has the right to redefine marriage,
'Personally, I believe that marriage is constituted for the lifelong union of man and woman, for the procreation of children.
'I believe traditional marriage remains the most stable way for children to be raised, and should be supported and protected by government.'
Tyronetimes.co.uk said that, Mr Day plans to contest the May 22nd election to the Sinn Fein backed proposal when it is debated in the Stormont Assembly on Tuesday.
Alan Day, 38, describes himself on his Twitter profile as: Christian, Orangeman, Unionist. He is also the webmaster for Ulster-Scots Online & The Orange Chronicle. He has tweeted over 275,000 times and has just 4763 followers.
TheGayUK reached out to Alan Day for confirmation on his stance.
