<p>A single has been released nearly every year in aid of Comic Relief in the charity’s 25 year history. Thirteen made it to the top of charts, however a few have narrowly missed the top spot. We take a look at our top 5 favourites.</p>

<p>Help by Bananarama & La na nee nee noo noo (French and Saunders with Kathy Burke) Reached Number 3 in 1989. It was a cover version of The Beatles song "Help!", and was released on the London Records label, entering the UK Singles Chart on 25 February 1989 and reaching a high of #3. It remained in the chart for nine weeks. </p>

<p>Absolutely Fabulous 1994 At the height of AbFab's fame Pats and Eds joined forces with the Pet Shop Boys to release the campest single known to man. It reached number 6 in May. The single debuted at #2 in Australia, which was also the highest peak position ever for them in Australia. It also peaked at #2 in New Zealand.</p>

<p>In March 1995 Cher, Chrissie Hynde, Neneh Cherry and Eric Clapton released the classic charity tune Love Can Build A Bridge. It reached the number 1 slot. Interestingly the song had been released twice before the Comic Relief version, once by The Judds and once as a charity single in aid of Save The Children, it reached only number 57 in Official Singles Chart. Also Britney Spears sang it on Star Search in 1991.</p>

<p>Walk This Way, two powerhouse girl-bands go head to head. We hoped for cat fights and heels embedded in foreheads however the result was a catchy revamp of an old Aerosmith track. Girls Aloud and Sugababes achieved number 1 status. It gave GA their third number1 and Sugababes their fifth. </p>
