OCTOBER:
Gorgon City – Sirens
Featuring 3 of this years biggest soulful deep house chart smashes, this album is genuinely all killer no filler and is packed full of killer anthems and collabs with people such as Jennifer Hudson, MNEK, Katy B and Maverick Sabre to name just a few.
TinaShe – Aquarius
Blog darling, and rising star releases her debut album of hook packed alt-R n B, check it out if you liked Beyoncé's latest album and if your fan of The Weeknd and Drake. She also has a collaboration on of the years biggest upcoming releases.
Ella Henderson – Chapter One
If you’re a fan of dreary mid-tempos and lifeless ballads then you’re in for a treat, but to be fair it does contain 3 solid gold pop songs (Ghosts, Glow & Empire) and the girl can saanng!
Jessie Ware – Tough Love
The only Jessie in pop that matters (because she can actually sing and doesn’t have a hateful personality) returns with another slice of accomplished contemporary dance and electronic soul that improves on her debut album.
Kele – Trick
Kele of Okereke fame, aka the lead singer of Bloc Party delivers his 2nd solo album and it’s a sublime piece of deep house and down tempo electronica perfect for autumn and winter.
Robin Schulz – Prayer
He has already had 3 big No1’s this year and now his album hath arrived, a combination of those big hits remixed and his own slick dance tunes, including a deep house cover version of 80s pop classic We don’t have to take our clothes off.
Taylor Swift – 1989
Now she is a proper “pop star” the former country chanteuse is threatening to unleash one of the best pop albums of the year. How very dare she!
NOVEMBER:
Calvin Harris – Motion
The impossibly attractive and mind bogglingly succesfull DJ/Producer returns for his 4th album and once again is filled with massive collaborations including Gwen Stefani, Haim, Tinashe and new ones with Hurts and Ellie Goulding, the album already includes 3 massive No1s.
Estelle – True Romance
Yes, it’s the Estelle of elusive American Boy chanteuse fame, and she has already released 3 solid pop jams this year from it in the form of sexually explicit Make Her Say the deep house inspired RnB of Something Good and current single Conqueror a massive electronica ballad. Shaping it up to be a diverse but brilliant listen.
Cheryl Cole – Only Human
And so the P.R parasite and world's worst pop star returns with another album featuring a No1 lead single, a less successful 2nd single and an album full of personality free dull pop. See you same time next year for exactly the same thing.
Iamamiwhoami – Blue
Meanwhile one of music’s most creative acts return with a new album full of incredible panoramic sweeping Scandinavian electronica that really deserves to be heard on a wider scale.
Nico & Vinz – Black Star Elephant
Following on from their massive summer No 1 from earlier this year, the Norwegian / African duo unveil their debut album, based on traditional African music with very modern production and sound it’s a lively listen featuring some truly great original uplifting pop songs.
David Guetta – Listen
His new album is shaping up to be a rather interesting listen, with a No 1 from it already under his belt and his new single “Dangerous” which is a rather subdued classical music inspired affair and with an Emeli Sande collaboration awaiting to be unleashed, who knows what this album holds!
Olly Murs – Never Been Better
You know what to expect, some more “cheeky chappy” pop anthems and a slew of uninspired ballads dedicated to his fans.
DECEMBER:
Kiesza – Sound Of A Woman
One of the year’s big pop surprises, having already scored 2 massive hits with a 3rd on the way, the 90s inspired deep house grooves meets equally delicious 90s inspired down tempos and R n B grooves.
Labrinth – Take Me To The Truth
His debut album was massive and his lacklustre comeback single has just had a little visit with the Top 10, whether or not he can keep up that momentum with his 2nd album remains to be seen.
ALSO:
The all-conquering Adele is expected to unleash her new album “25” before the end of the year but no set date as yet although Nov 26th is looking likely. Unapologetic Bitch Madonna has been cock-teasing her new album on Instagram all year, but remains to be seen if it will be released this year
