OMOVIES Festival Di Cinema Gay, Lesbica e Questioning Napoli

Founded in 2008, OMOVIES is the Festival of Cinema Gay and Questioning of the city of Naples, sponsored by the Social Promotion of Ken NGO, which has as its goal the overcoming of prejudice against LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender).

Omovies is designed by Carlo Cremona and Mark Taglialatela and is sponsored by the Association of Social Promotion Ken the non-profit organization.

OMOVIES is a social project that was created for young people of marginalized groups in the metropolitan area of ​​Naples and Campania, and in this edition opens a window to maturity, the elderly and the love between people with silver hair.

The great cultural and social event which ends with the # GranGalà of OMOVIES is also given by the many initiatives and events that accopagnano the festival, such as debates, thematic meetings on cinema, art exhibitions, parties, etc..

The film festival and competition for comrtometraggi is an event of territorial promotion and strengthening the “culture of love” as a strategy and an antidote to the subculture of hatred and discrimination. We want to show love and its differences, create social gathering (starting with the youth) a place for reflection, sharing and development, which becomes a chance of contamination between young and old, among young homosexual, transgender and heterosexual men and women who share the values ​​of Constitutional and Peace.

OMOVIES is the ideal place where to take part actively in the contrast discrimination through a process of training and information made up of images, sounds, words and emotions, the Art of Cinema understood as an element of social cohesion, intercultural.

We want to show, describe and ask ourselves to understand, discuss and confront omoaffettivo about how the world is perceived by the world in which we live by ourselves and ourselves first and then from the “other.”
