Callen-Lorde is seeking an exceptionally friendly and detail oriented individual to join our staff as a Patient Care Associate (PCA). PCAs are part of our dynamic medical team and work in collaboration with our nursing and provider staff to ensure optimal patient care. The PCA provides front desk reception and is responsible for maintaining an efficient flow of patients, visitors, and phone calls into the various systems of Callen-Lorde. PCAs provide administrative support to the clinical staff as well as assist with the collection of patient registration, billing and payment data. The PCA is a primary customer service contact with our patients, therefore, must be courteous, patient and professional at all times.
Patient Care Associate Receptionist
Callen-Lorde Community Health Center provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities — in all their diversity — regardless of ability to pay.
Work Schedule:
Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week). Two evening shifts per week and one Saturday per month are required.
Experience/Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required, BS/BA degree in a Social Service related discipline preferred
- At least 2 years experience in a medical services environment, specifically with front desk redeption
- Strong computer competency (MS Office, Electronic Medical Record)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of Federal & NY State patient privacy regulations/laws a plus
