Philadelphia Black Gay Pride 2015
Philadelphia Black Pride (formally Philadelphia Black Gay Pride) was the birth child of the COLOURS Organization, only LBGTQ health service organization in Philadelphia primarily serviced by and for people of color. From our initial inception in August 1999, COLOURS served as the official host of the Philly Black Pride/Penn Relays festival until PBGP received its own 501(c)(3) status in April 2004 thus expanding it’s programming to all year-round.
Philadelphia Black Pride has been a member of the Center for Black Equity (formally known as the Federation of Black Prides) for the past 15 years where in November 2013, we became a program of Center for Black Equity to enhance support for the year round programming that we provide to the Philadelphia community and the festival related activities implemented during the annual University of Penn Relays Carnival.
