Published Collection of Photographic Monographs Featuring LGBT Asylum Seekers
by Newsdesk | 25th May 2014
No Going Back, in collaboration with Simon O’Corra of Duality Books, is producing a photographic collection featuring both works by LGBT asylum seekers and a separate section of photographed individuals who are seeking or have ever sought asylum based on their sexual orientation.
All proceeds will go towards furthering the work of No Going Back.
Founded in 2012, No Going Back is a Leeds-based not-for-profit organisation providing legal advice, education, advocacy and representation for LGBT asylum seekers in the United Kingdom. We put a premium on valuing and encouraging diversity in the work we do as well as among the wider LGBT community, and this project will highlight this aspect of our work as well as celebrate the lives and artistic contributions of asylum seekers escaping persecution because of their sexual identities to live openly and freely.
Photo submissions must be high resolution and accompanied by a bio of 100 words or less.
Requests to model must be accompanied by a bio of no more than 200 words, including your current city of residence.
We're also interested in hearing from photographers interested in volunteering their time to photograph models, for which work you would be credited.
If you’re a photographer – amateur or professional – and/or are willing to model for the project, and identify (or have ever identified) as an LGBT asylum seeker, please send submissions, modelling requests and any further enquiries to:
