Pride in the Desert
Pride in the Desert is in its 36th year. This event is our annual fundraiser allowing us to continue to give back to the community. The annual attendance is approximately 6000 to 10,000 with about 80 vendors that include retail businesses and non-profits. The entertainment consists of both local and national talent bringing a wide variety of genres.
The Tucson Pride Festival is organized by Tucson Pride/TLGA. The 2013 festival theme is ‘PRIDE 365.’ The theme highlights the Southern Arizona LGBTQ community’s commitment to show our pride every day of the year.
This years Pride festival will be held at the Kino Sports Complex “South Soccer Field”. This is a large venue with a 7000 occupancy which in the past has hosted events such as Dwight Yokums’ most recent Tucson concert. This facility features a field of cool grass featuring stadium lighting which will allow the 2013 Tucson Pride to continue on well after dark. This is also a fenced County venue thus allowing not only beer and wine but, in a first for Tucson’s Pride Festival, spirits. So when heading out to the park this year make sure and bring your ID.
