The Project Coordinator will provide support to the Associate Director of Community Relations to meet the proposed goals and objectives of the Southern States Strategy project as presented to the Gill Foundation.

Job Title: Project Coordinator
Reports to: Associate Director, Community Relations
Salary: $21/Hour
Classification: Part-Time – 20 hours per week
Location: San Francisco, CA
Target Start/End Date: February 2, 2015 through December 4, 2015

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the creation of a project timeline for all three target states, as well as a master project timeline, and maintain schedule of all project activities within state.
  • Coordinate meetings, onsite trainings, and prepare agendas with collaborative Regional Affiliate leadership, community and business partners in each target state.
  • Record minutes of teleconferences with Regional Affiliates, community and business partners.
  • Help create a “business case template” to promote public education on subject matter within each state.
  • Create and maintain up to date tracking system of coalition partners for each target state.
  • Coordinating public education materials, collateral production, and distribution.
  • Ongoing tracking of news and social media relevant to the project’s subject matter and development in each target state.
  • Ensure we meet the required grant progress reports in a timely fashion.
  • Help coordinate travel and accommodations for onsite visits to target states.
  • Assist in the creation of Out & Equal November 2015 Town Call materials presenting best practices and outcomes of the project.
  • Work with Communications team with updates from project for creation of content and sharing on Out & Equal’s social media outlets and website.
  • Assist in the compilation of reports and project outcome for the distribution & featured panel at Out & Equal’s 2015 Workplace Summit.
  • Compile progress reports to be shared with the Regional Affiliate network during NACRA teleconferences.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in community relations, communications or a related field
  • Experience working within an LGBT non-profit organization
  • Strong collaborative, planning and implementation skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle changing deadlines
  • Motivated, outgoing self-starter who can implement projects with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Strong attention to details
  • Knowledge of social networks, including Twitter and Facebook
  • Tech-savvy
  • Expert level Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft programs, including Word and Powerpoint
  • Expert in email programs such as Mail Chimp
  • Awareness of national LGBT workplace issues

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
This position requires frequent computer use and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The position also requires frequent travel, sometimes at short notice.
