After my recent review of the X-mini Kai 2 portable speaker, I had the chance to get my grubby little mitts on its bigger brother. This chunky but beautifully formed (similar to my good self) speaker is ideal for your bluetooth needs.
The X-mini Kai 2 was a pocket sized speaker solution, but the new X-mini CLEAR, whilst being a decent size is still portable and moveable so you can still take your sounds with you wherever you may go.
I expected some decent sound from this speaker, and wasn't disappointed.
I loved the crystal clear sound from this piece of equipment - with a clear plastic back and flashing colours, this simple speaker does more than it says on the tin.
But its basic usage is for playing music or even TV via its bluetooth set-up, and it works like a dream. I used it on my iPhone 4S, an iPod Touch and via my iPad and Macbook Air (showing off there), listening to TV playback, movies, music and podcasts and the sound was wonderful and so much richer than the devices own small-scale speakers
The clear back gives you an insight into the the workings of a speaker system, something of a mystery to my personally. Apparently the designers worked hard to create a literally wireless see-through speaker - so no nasty little wires to distract you!
The buttons are touch sensitive and work perfectly, no nasty lumpy bumpy buttons, everything is discrete and really rather lovely.

TECH REVIEW: X-mini Kai 2 Portable Speaker
I can't find a thing wrong with this speaker and to be honest, hate the fact that it has to go back after this review. Simple to set up, simple to use, totally wireless and uses bluetooth to its full advantage.
In terms of improvements, I cannot think of a single this that would make this make this work better, it links easily to your devices, the sound is superb and it is still as portable as my own JBL speaker (known locally as a donut!) and if I am honest, I’d quite happily swap it.
This speaker will happily play your tunes, enhance your enjoyment of Netflix on your iPad or laptop, and AND charge your device whilst doing it!
I’ve tried, and I simply cant find a fault with it……..
The Positive
▪ Larger than its baby brother
▪ Superb sounds
▪ Charges your devices
▪ Has bluetooth, but also NFC
The Negative
▪ not a single one!▪
Price: as we go to press, the cost is around £169
Overall, provided they can bring it in at a decent UK price, this is an idea accompaniment to your bluetooth device. It’s party all the way in terms of music, but it also provides some decent sound for your TV, catchup and laptop.
